The 9th album in US. It was the first time that same titles and same covers of UK and US albums were released. Following "Aftermath", all songs are co-written by Jagger/Richards. 2 songs of UK album were cut and replaced by "Let's Spend The Night Together" and "Ruby Tuesday" which were released as a single in same month. When US media attacked that lyrics of "Let's Spend The Night Together" make us imagine SEX, the promotion of double A sides with "Ruby Tuesday" evaded media. Eventually "Ruby Tuesday" took No.1 song US charts. That promotion was Andrew Loog Oldham's idea and this album became the last one by his producing. Also featured "Something Happened To Me Yesterday" of which lead vocal is Keith at the first time. Its sound is light like vaudeville, but its lyrics are experience of drugs. |
